This is the fifth year that KC Business Magazine has presented the award, and the fourth straight year John has been a recipient.

The award recipients are chosen through a three tiered system. Initially, a survey is mailed to 26,000 high net worth households (those with a net worth in excess of $500,000) in the Kansas City area. An additional 5,000 surveys were sent out to leaders in the financial services industry. The results of these two surveys determine finalists for consideration.
